Music Box Theatre Rules
For the maximum enjoyment of all those attending a performance at the Music Box Theatre, patrons are asked to observe the following rules and regulations during their visit. These are in place for the protection of performers and guests to the theatre alike.
Please remember that performances start promptly. Latecomers may be held until a break. If you need it, a cloakroom service is available, but they will not accept strollers or furs. No outside food or beverages are allowed (unless they are medically necessary.)
Security searches will check for oversized or prohibited items. These may include manual inspections, wands, or metal detectors.
Late Attendance
Guests should aim to be present at the venue 30 minutes prior to the start of of their show, allowing enough time to purchase refreshments, visit the restroom, and be comfortably seated before the performance begins. Latecomers will be admitted by the management at a suitable break in the performers – tickets will not be refunded.
Electronic Devices
The use of cameras, camcorders and other recording devices during the performance is strictly not allowed. The use of beepers, cell phones and other electronic devices is also not permitted – cell phones should be put on silent mode and remain stowed away throughout the duration of the performance.

At The Music Box Theatre, there is no defined bag policy. However, bags will be searched on entry. Larger bags or backpacks are discouraged due to the narrow aisles and limited space — please bring an item that can be easily searched and will fit under your seat during the show.

» Audio or video recording devices
» Cell phones not turned off
» Beepers or other noise-making devices
» Electronic devices, unless needed for accessibility

» Illegal drugs of any kind.

The Music Box Theatre accepts cashless transactions at all outlets, although some may also accept cash. Please bring both forms if you are unsure.
Ticket policy at The Music Box Theatre NYC
Mobile tickets are required for most performances. These are usually delivered via email or the venue’s app. As such, please ensure your device is charged on the day of the performance.
Smoking policy at The Music Box Theatre NYC
Smoking is not allowed inside the theater. This includes e-cigarettes and vaping. If you’d like to smoke, designated outdoor smoking areas may be available — please ask staff for directions.

At the Music Box Theatre NYC, children under four are not permitted. Likewise, all attendees — regardless of age — must have their own ticket. Some shows may have different age requirements, so please check your event page.
